LCSW, CTT, CAP
Will Shlifer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Trauma Therapist with almost 20 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families heal from trauma, loss, and addiction.
Will’s work is grounded, relational, and deeply human. He understands that trauma doesn’t just live in the mind — it lives in the body, the nervous system, and the stories we carry about ourselves. His approach blends psychotherapy with mind–body awareness, helping clients move beyond coping and into lasting change.
This work isn’t about quick fixes or surface-level relief. It’s about creating safety, rebuilding trust, and reconnecting with the parts of yourself that may have gone quiet over time.
You’re not broken; you’re becoming.
Therapy for Individuals, Couples & Families
Healing looks different for everyone. Will works with individuals, couples, and families navigating a wide range of emotional challenges, including trauma, grief, addiction, relationship strain, and major life transitions.
Clients often come to Will feeling overwhelmed, emotionally disconnected, or stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand. Therapy offers a space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin responding to life with greater clarity and self-trust.
Sessions are collaborative, compassionate, and direct - designed to help you feel supported while also gently challenged to grow.
Life Coaching & Sober Coaching
In addition to psychotherapy, Will also offers Life Coaching and Sober Coaching for clients who are ready to take an active role in shaping their next chapter.
Life and sober coaching may be a good fit if you are:
Seeking clarity and direction during a transition
In recovery and wanting structured support
Looking to build healthier routines and boundaries
Ready to move forward but unsure where to start
Coaching focuses on practical tools, accountability, and forward momentum — while still honoring the emotional depth of your experience.
Interventions
Will also provides interventions for individuals and families facing urgent concerns related to addiction or mental health.
Interventions are handled with care, respect, and a strong emphasis on safety. The goal is not confrontation, but clarity — helping everyone involved understand what’s happening and what support is needed next.
Will does not offer case management, allowing his focus to remain on assessment, guidance, and therapeutic support during critical moments.
In-Person & Online Therapy
Will works with clients throughout Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Parkland, and West Palm Beach, offering both in-person sessions and online therapy.
Whether you prefer to meet face-to-face or connect virtually, the work remains intentional, grounded, and deeply personal.
What Clients Experience
Clients often describe their work with Will as:
Safe and grounding
Honest and supportive
Insightful without being overwhelming
Compassionate without being passive
Many come to therapy having “tried it before” and leave feeling more connected to themselves, their relationships, and their ability to navigate life with confidence.

FAQs

I use a blend of approaches — Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), client-focused therapy, experiential work, and solution-focused methods. In simple terms, that means we look at both your thoughts and patterns, explore what’s happening underneath through active exercises, and focus on real-world progress. It’s a balance of reflection and action designed to help you move forward.
-
There’s really no perfect time — you’re never completely “ready.” What matters most is being open-minded and willing to explore what’s coming up for you. The process itself helps you find clarity and direction, even if you don’t have it all figured out at the start
-
My goal is to create a comfortable, judgment-free space where you feel safe to open up and be yourself. Sessions are a mix of conversation, education, and experiential work — meaning we don’t just talk about change, we practice it together. You’ll leave each session with insight and tools you can actually use.
-
I offer both in-person and virtual therapy options. In-person sessions create a deeper sense of connection and presence, while virtual sessions offer flexibility and comfort from your own space. We’ll choose what works best for your needs and schedule.
-
On average, clients start to notice real change within 6–8 weeks — but everyone’s process is different. Healing doesn’t move in a straight line. The length of therapy depends on your goals, what you’re working through, and the pace that feels right for you.
-
I don’t take insurance, but I do offer private pay with a sliding scale. That means we’ll find a rate that fits your situation. I believe therapy should be accessible, and I’ll always do my best to meet you where you are financially.
-
I don’t just sit and listen — therapy with me is active and engaging. I ask a lot of questions, give meaningful assignments, and use experiential techniques that help you go deeper. It’s about creating real movement, not just having conversations about your struggles.

That’s completely normal. You don’t need to have it all together before you begin. Wherever you are right now is exactly where you need to be — and we’ll take it one step at a time together.
